A Media Community Integrating Spirituality, Democracy, Ethics
Sotomayor and "The Family"
Just as Sonia was getting pelted from with questions/accusations from neocons on the right whose self-righteous indignation seemed aimed at her "racism ", media was transmitting unbelievable details about the subterranean cult called "The Family."
When in "The Family," apparently the loyalties of all "Christian" white males is to protect The Family, confess and cover up for members of The Family and inspire and deploy hush funds. Perhaps we will never know how many of our tax dollars have gone to silence lovers around the globe.
More than that -- why don't Americans (the same morally sensitive Americans who elected Barack) rise up in anger at the hypocrisy of these legislators, most of whom were members of the "Promise Keepers" for goodness sake? Is there no penalty amongst Republicans for living a morally bipolar life that ends up clocking dollars for unscrupulous politicians?
Who will model a better way for generations to come? I think we have a great start in our new President, but the secret life of those so unlike him must be exposed to the daylight of honest moral vision so they can be dissipated and a new age, even among Republicans, be ushered in.
