A Well-Hidden Issue of Social Justice

Outrageous miscarriages of justice will not heal this world
The recent USA court decision to give a life sentence to an Army soldier who raped an Iraqi woman and then killed her family fills me with incredible conflict. I do not believe in the death penalty. But I also understand their outrage: in their country, this man would already be dead for the family he decimated in a most horrific way. International miscarriages of justice continue to be perpetrated by our country; how can we hope for peace in such a context?

Hope Rising
I find it extraordinary that, with so many challenges in our economy and internationally (flu, war, etc.) hope continues to rise in the American soul.
